The Spotter Whatsapp Group is a dedicated group to communicate the following information to other Sandbaai residents:
• Suspected movement or activities; • Updates on a break-in at your property or that of a neighbour; • Updates on a break-in for follow-up by SAPS, security companies or our neighbourhood watch, such as a case number or other information that can assist these institutions. • Lost & Found - If you found something you can share it on this group or inform the community that you handed it in at SAPS and then provide the reference number with a photo or message pertaining to that incident, such as place, date, etc.
PLESE NOTE: THIS IS NOT A CHAT GROUP.
If you want to further discuss the incident, chat about crime in general or share your opinions, then head over to our Community Chat groups. The links are elsewhere on this page.
This group is ONLY for reporting an event that is in the process of being committed.
LEAVE THIS GROUP'S SOUND NOTIFICATION ON - IT MIGHT SAVE YOUR LIFE!!!
• If you see any illegal activity in the process of being committed, then you report it here. • If your life is threatened, then report it here and then call SAPS.
HOW TO REPORT:
• First of all, sound your alarm or press your security panic button. This notifies your Private Security Company
• Then send either a voice note or text message on the SANDBAAI RED HELP Whatsapp group.
- By doing so, you will be notifying not only our Neighbourhood Watch but also your own Security Company and SAPS members on the group. - More importantly you will also be notifying your neighbours, who might assist response teams further when you cannot do so for whatever reasons. This may just save your life.
• If you can, then call SAPS immediately after having reported on the SANDBAAI RED HELP Group. Not the other way around as the SAPS 10111 number might not be working or they might have high call volumes waiting their response.
