- Utilizing dedicated WhatsApp groups (Blue Spotter Group and Red Emergency Group), community members report suspicious activities and immediate threats, facilitating swift communication between individuals and responders.
- The Responder Group engages private security, neighbourhood watch, law enforcement, and private emergency services for an effective and collaborative response.
Camera Network:
- The SCI Grid comprises strategically placed cameras monitoring the Sandbaai residential area, organized into Neighborhood, Blocks, Sectors, Zones, and Units, enabling comprehensive coverage and management.
Monitoring:
- Zone Cameras streamed through the NSCI cloud network provide real-time data and images to designated groups, enabling verification and response to potential threats.
- Expansion plans include a CSI control room for centralized monitoring and tactical response guidance as the system grows.
Response:
- Neighbourhood Watch Oversight: Managed by the Neighbourhood Watch, supported by NCA training, ensures coordinated responses. Trained NCA response members within sectors offer localized capabilities, with other responders providing perimeter support.
- Private Security Collaboration: Collaborating with existing private security companies, the Neighbourhood Watch supports in locating criminals involving their clients, fostering a collaborative approach to security measures.
- Law Enforcement Engagement: Working closely with Law Enforcement and South African Police ensures an official and responsible approach to community safety within our system.
