PLOT CLEARING: INPUT ON EXISTING POLICY
Mr. A Wyngaard explained that a new policy regarding Plot Clearing is in process.
A possible solution is to request offenders to clear their plots within a set timeframe and if the instruction is not carried out, to go ahead and fine offenders.
Recommended:
That the administration distributes the new process relating to Plot Clearing to the Ward Committee members.

CLEANING CONTRACTOR
Mr. A Wyngaard reported that the Cleaning Contractor Tender was not awarded due to financial constraints. He is awaiting the outcome of a decision from the Municipal Manager and CFO. Currently EPWP workers are assisting, and Mr. T Marx and his team are doing their best to accommodate the needs of all the wards.

CLEANING CONTRACTOR
The Chairperson informed the meeting that the Cleaning Tender has not been awarded due to the tender prices that came in much higher than the available budget.
Currently there are 8 EPWP workers attending to the cleaning of the area, but they are not doing a good job. The Chairperson submitted photos to the Executive Mayor, that were taken of the EPWP workers, reflecting that they just walk around in a group and not really doing any work.
A comment was also made that they are a group of 8 but only have 2 rakes and 2 brooms with them. The Ward Committee is not happy with the work done by the EPWP workers.
Mr. T Marx informed the meeting that the verges will be cut by the Parks Department during this week.

| Cllr. Lombard reported that she got a lot of backlash relating to the poor state of pavements in Sandbaai. Residents reported that the streets look terrible, and several areas have not been cleaned. The chairperson indicated that she is in possession of the cleaning schedule but would like the dates as well. A concern was raised about the late hours that the cleaning crew works and whether the workers then get paid overtime. It was suggested that a foreman be appointed for the cleaning team. Recommended That Cllr. Lombard report operational matters to Mr. De Wet Nel and report back to the Ward Committee. |

Mr. Wyngaard informed the meeting that there is currently a provincial department that wants to create jobs, and the project is called “Cleaning and Greening”..

That Mr. Wyngaard request 2 workers for Sandbaai specifically, from the provincial department’s job creation campaign “Cleaning and Greening”.

| Cllr Lombard informed the meeting on the 2 EPWP workers that are working in Sandbaai and who are monitored and assisted by Ms Leentjie van Schalkwyk. It is requested that the public do not give orders directly to the workers, but rather give your request to the office of the Snr Manager Hermanus Administration, the Ward Councillor or Ms van Schalkwyk directly. 6.2 VEGETATION ON PAVEMENTS: CLEARANCE 1,5M FROM ROAD
The Chairperson informed the meeting that she received complaints of encroachments on sidewalks in Ward 7. All vegetation plant on sidewalks must be done in such a way that there is a 1,5 m walkway cleared for pedestrian flow. The community is requested to please report any problem areas to the Municipality.

As gevolg van addisionele uitgawes, byvoorbeeld ekstra brandstof vir kragopwekkers, ondervind ons Munisipaliteit ‘n erntig begrotingstekort en ook probleme om Sandbaai se strate netjies te hou. Nou gebruik hulle EPWPs (Extended Public Works Program), om die werk te doen, wat nie baie suksesvol is nie. Daarom is dit noodsaaklik dat ons, alle inwoners van Sandbaai, help om "meer agteruitgang" te stop!!!
Net eers ‘n baie groot dankie aan elke Sandbaaier wie op een of ander manier reeds betrokke is, deur rommel op te tel, sypaadjies se gras te sny en selfs indringers te help verwyder.
Die probleem is egter dit wat nie gedoen word nie.
Ons sal moet saam staan en (vrywillig) bydra vir 'n spannetjie wat kan doen wat nie gedoen word nie, soos die parke, kusgebied, sommige sypaadjies en skoolperseel, waar ons noodwendig self die gras sal moet laat sny en indringer plante verwyder.
Kom ons kry Sandbaai weer netjies!!! Die Munisipaliteit gaan voort en doen wat hulle kan, maar die res wat nodig is, doen en finansier ons self, op ‘n vrywillige basis, totdat meer permanente planne in plek is.
As jy ‘n geldjie wil bydra, by ABSA, tak 632005, VOS Coastal Path, rek 406 937 9296, baie dankie. Die beheer oor fondse is baie streng. Inspireer sommer jou bure ook. As verwysing, wil ons graag jou erf nommer en naam weet.
Ons vertrou dat daar genoeg hulp uit Sandbaai sal kom om ons dorp netjies te kry en te hou. Ons het reeds begin en die aangehegte kaart toon waar ons na 15 werksdae is, een man met ‘n masjien en meestal baie lang gras, maar teen die 25 ste Aug is ons geld op!!

· Die groephuiswoonbuurte en besighede (waar van toepassing) in Sandbaai, versorg reeds hulle binne strate en sommige ook hulle buite strate. So is daar ook heelwat eienaars buite die komplekse, wat voor hulle huise en selfs verder, die sypaadjies bewerk. Baie dankie.
Ons soek net 'n goed versorgde woonbuurt.
