DOG WITHOUT LEASHES: SIGNS ON PARKING AREAS

Law-Enforcement need to monitor all the beaches and not only concentrate on the Blue Flag beaches, since Blue Flag beaches already have a “no dog” criteria.

Recommended:

That the Chairperson send a request via e-mail to Mr. T Marx to erect information signage at the Sandbaai beach area that indicate that dogs must be on a leash and that the owner must pick-up their dog’s droppings.

PLAYGROUND / PARK OPPOSITE FOODZONE IN LONG STREET

The meeting was informed that a job card has been generated but that currently the problem is that there is one digger loader, so it takes some time to get to all the jobs.

It is also mentioned that some complaints were received about the play park in Meent Street as the equipment, especially the roundabout, is broken.

There are mixed feelings about this play park and suggestions will need to be made to decide on the way forward.

Noted  The members discussed that shopping trolleys are found all over the area and are being used by vagrants to transport building materials and the like. Recommended That Cllr. Lombard contact grocery shop managers/owners and request them to ensure that their shopping trollies are returned to their premises to combat tollies being used by vagrants. Wykskomitee 18 Mei 2023REPORTING OF OPERATIONAL/MAINTENANCE MATTERS The Chairperson informed the meeting that currently there is no funding to do anything as all the available funds are used for diesel/fuel. Noted MINUTES: 20 JULY 2023THE TRANSFER STATION IS NOW OPEN ON SUNDAYSCraig Mitchell - That the trading times for refuse deposits be displayed on the boundary wall of the sewerage facility opposite the intersection of Myrtle Street.Answer:Craig: The request is noted, however a new drop off sign is planned to be placed at the entrance to the new drop off facility shortly which will include the operational hours and waste types allowed. The site entrance is deemed to be a better location for such a sign as then anyone coming down Schulphoek road from the R43 to the facility will also see the board with theoperational hours.
