Die sloot by Golden Harvest is reeds vir jare onvoldoende. Daar sal wel deeglik beplan moet word, veral vir vloedwater, met ‘n moontlike ekstra afvoer via Langstraat oor Piet Retief, omdat die kanaal langs Andries Pretorius reeds oorloop as dit baie reën.

Mr. Vos le Roux is anxiously waiting for the stormwater pipe to be installed in front of Golden Harvest. This is in process.

Mr. T Marx gave some background on what is planned with this project.
The channel will be piped where after bollards will be planted to prevent vehicles to drive right up to the boundary wall of Golden Harvest. The project should be finished by the end of April to early May 2023.

The chairperson informed the meeting that all the building materials were delivered to the Long street building site, but construction was hampered because electric cables and rocks were stumbled upon. Mr. Marx indicated that construction had been scheduled to start the following week.
At the moment the municipality does not have funds. Additionally, even if material for the construction of the storm water channel only arrives in May, it is just before the start of the rainy season, which will delay the construction even further.
Mr. Vos requested that the municipality remove the rubble at the Long street storm water channel building site.

That Mr. Wyngaard arrange the removal of the rubble and cleaning of the ditch at the Long street storm water channel building site

The project needed to be slightly adjusted and they will be installing concrete slabs. It will be an open channel and no longer a piped channel.
The project should be finished by July 2023.

The meeting was informed that the project to line the storm water channel in front of Golden Harvest could not be completed in the 2022/23 financial year due to materials that was not available/out of stock. This project will be done in phases and will continue/completed in the next financial year. She informed the meeting on all the things that was done with the funding during the 2022/23 financial year which was phase 1 of the project.
